Establish the Finance Function in a country

Description

Situation: Problems with the finance function in a country where my company had recently acquired a distributor and converted into a subsidiary. The existing CFO wasn’t performing, processes weren’t followed or even created and reporting and controlling was barely existent.

My responsibilities and actions: I assessed the situation and focused on the most grave deficiency: monthly reporting process. Within the first 2 months I moved from manual to fully automated submission, releasing about a week of time per month for the function. Further on, I revisited all other finance processes and finally recruited a permanent CFO.

Outcome: Within 9 months from the start of the project I had left the country with a job 100% done and took over a new challenge
